What we offer
We are open to children aged 2 to 5 years, five days a week and offer both 15 and 30 hours funded childcare in Colchester.
We understand the concerns parents face when deciding where your child will be happiest and we know that all children settle at different rates. So for this reason we offer all new starters a series of settling in sessions. Our team’s level of experience and expertise means we are perfectly placed to guide you and your child through their exciting transition into preschool.
Below you’ll find information on the sessions we have available to your child, we do ask for the minimum attendance of 2 sessions weekly. This can be broken up into just morning or afternoons rather than a full day.
We are Ofsted rated Good for the childcare in Colchester we provide. Please do get in touch as soon as you are considering preschool for your little one, as places fill up very quickly.
Morning Session
9am to 12 noon
£15.00
(increasing to £16.50 from September 2023)
Prices are inclusive of a healthy snack and drink supplied by Preschool.
Lunch Club Session
12 noon to 12:30pm
£2.50
(increasing to £2.75 from September 2023)
Packed lunch and drink will need to be supplied by parents.
Afternoon Session
12:30 to 3pm
£12.50
(increasing to £13.75 from September 2023)

All Day Session
9am to 3pm
£30.00

What an amazing Preschool!
Setting is great, with lots of variety for little ones to choose from. Love the fact it’s very relaxed and little ones can do crafts, play and do activities such as baking etc.
Staff are all so welcoming and friendly!

Best Preschool around, I went there as a child and it was so nice having my child go there, Paula and her team are amazing and so friendly. Ethan has learnt so much from being at preschool, I remember his first few months he wouldn’t stop crying- when I left I felt awful leaving him as he had only just turned 2, but then he loved it so much I couldn’t get him away. Will miss taking him here and seeing all friendly faces. Hopefully my next child can attend this preschool too.

All 3 of my children have been to Layer Preschool with my youngest still there and my eldest about to start Secondary school. Jane and Paula have been there since my 11yr old first started and they as well as all the other staff are approachable, friendly, caring ladies who make the children who attend very happy! Highly recommended.
