What we offer
We are open to children aged 2 to 5 years, five days a week and offer both 15 and 30 hours funded childcare in Colchester.
We understand the concerns parents face when deciding where your child will be happiest and we know that all children settle at different rates. So for this reason we offer all new starters a series of settling in sessions. Our team’s level of experience and expertise means we are perfectly placed to guide you and your child through their exciting transition into preschool.
Below you’ll find information on the sessions we have available to your child, we do ask for the minimum attendance of 2 sessions weekly. This can be broken up into just morning or afternoons rather than a full day.
We are Ofsted rated Good for the childcare in Colchester we provide. Please do get in touch as soon as you are considering preschool for your little one, as places fill up very quickly.

My Daughter started Layer Preschool aged 2 and a half and from day one, they have been nothing but the best! The ladies so warm, kind and gentle and treat every single child as if they were their own. The love and devotion they give to all the children just shines through. The setting is fantastic with such a lovely outdoor area to play in, they also go into the woods to do forest school. My little girl is thriving and it’s all thanks to these wonderful ladies! We can never thank them enough. Hands down the best pre school with an amazing environment.
